Sharp U2-00 error code
Controller memory or data fault
Sharp U2-00 usually indicates a fault in the controller’s memory or stored data: the printer found a discrepancy when reading settings or meter values.
What does this error mean?
The U2 code family covers controller data faults. Some are temporary, for example after a power cut, but restoring stored settings and meter values often requires a technician. On a rented printer, the meter values make this particularly important.
What can you safely try?
- 01Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait a few minutes, then switch it back on. Some temporary faults clear this way.
When should you call a technician?
If the code remains after restarting, call a technician: restoring the memory and stored data requires a qualified technician.
Do you rent out or manage printers?
If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
