Sharp H4-00 error code

Low fuser temperature

Sharp H4-00 usually means that the fuser does not reach operating temperature: the heating is not working, or the sensor is faulty. It is the counterpart of H3-00.

What does this error mean?

The heating lamp, thermistor or a poor connection is typically responsible; an inadequate power supply can also contribute. On most Sharp printers, the code must be cleared by a technician even if its cause has been resolved.

What can you safely try?

  1. 01Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.
  2. 02If the printer is connected through an extension lead or power strip, try plugging it directly into a wall socket.

When should you call a technician?

Call a technician: checking the fuser assembly and clearing the code requires a qualified technician.

Do you rent out or manage printers?

If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
