Paper pathWarning

OKI 390 error code

Paper jam (manual or multipurpose tray)

OKI code 390 usually indicates a feeding jam from the manual (multipurpose) tray: the paper did not enter the printer properly.

What does this error mean?

At the manual tray, paper often feeds at an angle or several sheets enter together. The guides must be set precisely to the paper.

What can you safely try?

  1. 01Remove the paper from the manual tray and carefully pull out any sheet left inside.
  2. 02Reload the paper straight, with the guides set precisely against its edges.
  3. 03Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait a few minutes, then switch it back on. Some temporary faults clear this way.

When should you call a technician?

If feeding jams regularly, call a technician: the manual tray roller may need replacing.

Do you rent out or manage printers?

If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
