OKI 381 error code
Paper jam (near the drum or fuser)
OKI code 381 indicates a paper jam inside the printer, typically in the section between the imaging drum and fuser.
What does this error mean?
On most OKI printers, you need to lift out the drum unit to reach a sheet trapped here. The area around the fuser may be hot, so it is worth waiting a few minutes.
What can you safely try?
- 01Open the doors and covers and carefully remove all jammed paper from the paper path, including small scraps. The area around the fuser may be hot; wait a few minutes there.
- 02If you need to remove the imaging drum to reach the jam, put it in a shaded place and do not leave it exposed to light for more than a few minutes: the drum is light-sensitive.
When should you call a technician?
If you cannot find any paper, or the jam recurs in the same place, call a technician.
Do you rent out or manage printers?
If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
