Konica Minolta C0202 error code
Tray 1 lift fault
Konica Minolta C0202 usually indicates a fault in the lift mechanism of paper tray 1: after the tray lifts, the sensor does not report in time that the paper has reached its upper position.
What does this error mean?
A motor raises the bottom of the tray to keep the paper against the feed roller. The most common causes are paper that has slipped behind or underneath the tray, an overfilled tray or a cassette that has not been pushed back properly. C0204, C0206 and C0208 indicate the same fault in trays 2, 3 and 4.
What can you safely try?
- 01Pull tray 1 all the way out and check whether paper has slipped behind or underneath it.
- 02Remove and fan the paper, keep it below the fill mark, then push the tray fully back in.
- 03Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.
When should you call a technician?
If the code returns even with an empty, properly inserted tray, call a technician: the lift motor or sensor may be faulty.
Do you rent out or manage printers?
If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
